About Us
Duel is a SaaS company on a mission to make Brand Advocacy the industry standard playbook for building brilliant retail brands. It was founded by world record breaking adventurer and former brand ambassador Paul Archer, alongside viral games developer Naio Tsarouchis, and we exist to show there’s a better way to build businesses, to build a better future, proving that caring for people builds brand, which builds long term and exponential profit returns.
The Duel Brand Advocacy Platform allows enterprise brands to do just that, scaling how they manage their relationships with thousands of advocates, customers, creators and brand ambassadors. We’re proud today that brands such as Abercrombie & Fitch, Charlotte Tilbury, Spanx, Victoria’s Secret and Elemis (to name a few, but not to name some household names that we can’t talk about yet) are doing just that. The Duel team comprises psychologists, brand experts and community builders, combining cutting edge brand expertise, with seasoned SaaS experience.
The Role
At Duel, we don’t just build, we build once and scale everywhere. Whether it’s a relationship, a piece of content, an idea, or a framework, we create with purpose to maximise impact.
We’re building the future of brand advocacy, and we’re on the hunt for a magnetic, relationship-led Business Development professional to help us break into and dominate the New York market. This isn’t your typical BD role. You won’t be mass-blasting cold emails or chasing vanity metrics. Instead, you’ll be boots-on-the-ground, connecting with the most exciting brand builders in NYC, earning trust, creating opportunities, and leaving a lasting impression.
We’re looking for someone who can walk into a room of strangers and walk out with champions. Someone who gets what brands care about. Someone who naturally brings energy, insight, and credibility to every conversation.
We’re looking for someone who will…
Generate high-quality relationship opportunities that convert into long-term brand partnerships, outside of traditional sales motions
Warm up cold targets into qualified brand conversations that add value and drive intent
Expand Duel’s network of senior marketing decision-makers in New York and beyond
Shape and execute Duel’s IRL event strategy, using in-person experiences to build trust and unlock new opportunities
Create strategic signals and engagement from invites to indicators of buying intent, that lead to commercial conversations
Drive pipeline and supporting revenue growth through high-intent brand lead generation
Enhancing brand visibility through presence in exclusive, high-value communities
Scaling founder-led sales efforts, creating repeatable, human-led BD processes
Feeding insights back to the business from brand conversations to inform marketing, product, and strategic direction
Collaborate with Marketing on ABM campaigns, content plays, and field marketing activations, Sales to provide pipeline, share insights, and co-create progression plans, Brand Success to transfer insights and support long-term programme success and Senior Leadership to surface strategic opportunities and brand movement
Manage workflows, ensuring transparent and trackable engagement through HubSpot dashboards and reports
We’d love to hear from you if…
You have 5+ years of business development or relationship building experience, ideally you have an agency, retail or MarTech SaaS background to leverage broad marketing knowledge and existing networks.
You’re a natural relationship builder. You lead with trust, not transactions. You bring intelligence, confident charm (without the ego), and know how to hold credible, relaxed conversations with senior brand leaders.
You’re commercially sharp. You spot opportunities, ask smart questions, and know how to guide conversations toward value. You’re consultative, strategic, and comfortable working towards commercial goals, even in a non-traditional sales environment.
You’re a polished communicator with industry fluency. You speak the language of brand marketing and can hold your own with CMOs, VPs, and subject matter experts. You understand (or are passionate about) fashion, beauty, lifestyle, and can represent Duel’s positioning with confidence and clarity.
You bring energy, drive, and follow-through. You move fast, think ahead, and don’t wait to be told what to do. You have a bias for action and thrive in environments where initiative and ownership are rewarded.
You live and breathe events. From high-end dinners to brand panels, you know how to show up, host with presence, and follow up with impact. You understand that experiences are the engine of great relationships.
