About us
Duel is a SaaS company on a mission to make Brand Advocacy the industry standard philosophy for building brilliant retail brands. It was founded by world record-breaking adventurer and former brand ambassador Paul Archer, alongside viral games developer Naio Tsarouchis.
We exist to show that companies built for advocacy can change the world. We believe there’s a better way to build businesses, and we seek to prove that caring for people over short-term sales builds Brand, which in turn yields long-term and exponential profit returns thanks to the advocacy it drives.
The Duel Brand Advocacy Solution allows enterprise brands to do just that, scaling how they manage their relationships with thousands of advocates, customers, creators and brand ambassadors. We’re proud today that 60 brands such as Abercrombie & Fitch, Charlotte Tilbury, Spanx, Victoria’s Secret, LUSH and Elemis (to name a few, but not to name some household names that we can’t talk about… yet) are doing just that. The Duel team comprises psychologists, brand experts and community builders, combining cutting-edge brand expertise with seasoned SaaS experience.
The Role
This is a builder’s role. You’ll lead the operational set-up of our NYC office, not just sourcing desks and ordering laptops, but creating a space that feels like Duel: intentional, energetic and built for momentum. You’ll be working closely with the GTM teams to deliver in-office experiences that show our brand at its very best, whether that’s hosting a podcast recording, pulling people together for a community lunch or running an event for key customers.
At the core, you’re building the operating system behind it all: scalable, repeatable Dueligan rituals and processes that empower people rather than slow them down.
You’ll be the heartbeat of our US operations, the person people naturally gravitate towards, making sure every new hire is set for brilliance. You’ll coordinate our vendors, support the execution of company cadence, roll out new tools & processes (while optimising the ones already in play).
This is a role for someone who understands that operational excellence and energy are not separate things, that strong culture doesn’t just happen; it’s built, protected and lived every day.
We’re looking for someone who will…
Own the end-to-end setup of our new NYC office, from securing space and coordinating suppliers to creating an environment that reflects Duel’s culture and energy
Partner closely with the GTM team to run in-office experiences that engage customers and our wider community; including podcasts guests, founder lunches, customer dinners and small-format brand events
Design and implement foundational processes and rituals for a newly in-office US team (e.g. daily rhythm, meeting cadence, onboarding flows, office operating procedures), ensuring they are scalable and repeatable as we grow
Act as the centre of gravity for US operations, representing the Central Operations team on-the-ground in the US, adapting global processes and initiatives so they land effectively in NYC.
Procure and manage all hardware and IT setup for new US hires (laptops, access tools, onboarding workflows) so they are productive from day one
Coordinate and manage third-party suppliers and vendors across workplace, operations, platforms and tools to ensure everything runs smoothly and efficiently
Support the execution of company cadence and company-wide meetings, including all-hands, offsites and cross-regional sessions hosted from the US
Roll out new internal tools and operational processes, and continuously identify opportunities to simplify, optimise and improve how we work
Support broader operational responsibilities including US entity compliance (in partnership with Finance/Legal), office security and maintenance, health & safety, risk / incident escalation, and travel and logistics coordination for visiting execs and team members
We’d love to hear from you if…
Have 3–5+ years of experience in an operational or people experience & operations role, ideally within a SaaS or high-growth startup environment
Have worked in a People Operations or People Experience team and understand how operational work connects to employee experience and retention
Have previously supported a company through a new market launch or regional expansion and understand the nuance of embedding processes and culture in a new location
Enjoy executing and delivering, from sourcing and standing up office space, to onboarding new hires, coordinating vendors and managing day-to-day office operations
Thrive in ambiguous, fast-moving environments, and naturally turn unclear areas into structured, repeatable processes
Know how to bridge cultural and operational norms across international teams (e.g. UK → US), and recognise when to adapt a process to make it land locally
Naturally spot operational gaps or inefficiencies, and proactively document, improve and communicate processes so they can scale with the business
Have experience coordinating complex company launches, offsites, regional team days and customer experience moments
You are confident working in Notion (must-have), Google Suite, Slack and HubSpot, plus tools such as TravelPerk, Secureframe, survey / automation tools and operational dashboards
Have experience managing US entity compliance, with NY State workplace regulations and an understanding of the broader US workplace context
The Dueligan Culture
We want to build a remarkable company with remarkable people and a remarkable culture that you will want to shout from the rooftops about. Advocacy is our north star, both for our customers and our employees.
A High Trust, Tight Ship, full of Utterly Lovely & Bloody Brilliant People doing their Best Work Together
We value trust and freedom above all else. Yet this must be combined with deep ownership, execution, and clear, candid communication. If this is not how you are at Duel, or you break that trust, you will not be around for long.
Dualigans combined are the largest shareholders in Duel. We take that concept of ownership seriously.
In-person and remote working balance ...
We do much of our best work as a team together in the office, which is why we are only hiring people within a commutable distance of our London or New York offices. However, we also know that we do our best work alone at home, and we all need to be able to balance work with life, childcare commitments, and other responsibilities. The office philosophy is hybrid, where you're encouraged to be in the office a few days a week, namely when your team will be there.
However, the name of the game with everything we do is freedom and flexibility. So you do, as long as it's not at the expense of others.
