Are you an experienced engineering leader passionate about technology and innovation with a special interest in AI? We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Head of Engineering to guide our engineering department into the future.

THE ROLE
As Duel’s Head of Engineering, you will be the strategic and technical lead of a world-class engineering function, playing a crucial role in shaping our product's future and driving Duel’s continued success. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with the CTO and executive team to align the engineering department's goals with the company's broader objectives. You will oversee the entire engineering process, ensuring our infrastructure remains cutting-edge and efficient.
Leading and mentoring a diverse team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
Driving the development and implementation of AI-powered features and products, enhancing user experience and business value.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features and products.
Scaling technical operations, recruitment and management infrastructure as fast as the company grows
Overseeing the development and maintenance of our SaaS platform, ensuring high performance, scalability and security.
Motivating continuous improvement in our engineering practices, adopting the latest technologies and methodologies.
Managing technical resources within budget and project schedule.
Maintaining high standards of software quality by establishing good practices and habits for coding and testing.
Identifing, prioritising, and executing tasks in the software development life cycle.
Providing leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead team members to their optimum performance levels and career development.
THE PERSON
Proven leadership experience in a senior engineering role, preferably in an enterprise SaaS environment.
Senior leadership experience - you will have scaled engineering teams and know how to drive performance from people.
Expertise in AI technologies and frameworks preferred.
Strong technical background with expertise in MEAN stack technologies (MongoDB, Express.js, Angular, Node.js) and AWS or similar technologies.
Experience in overseeing the development of software solutions from conception to delivery.
Excellent knowledge of software and application design and architecture.
Experience with AWS and/or Azure.
A technical mindset with great attention to detail and a passion for quality.
Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to think outside the box.
Excellent organisational and leadership abilities.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

£90,000 - £110,000 salary depending on experience
