Head of Community
Duel is rapidly growing, thanks largely to our thriving community of brand builders, and we need a Head of Community to play a pivotal role in growing the powerful community that believes in our brand advocacy mission. You'll be the architect, building a network that drives awareness of the category, sales of the software and cultivates a loyal following that fuels our long-term success.
This role transcends traditional growth marketing or business development. It's a strategic blend of community building, event management, field marketing and lead generation, all woven together to create a thriving ecosystem for brand builders and partners.
THE COMPANY
Duel was founded by world-record-breaking adventurer and former brand ambassador Paul Archer, alongside viral games developer Naio Tsarouchis.
They believed that purpose-led brands are changing the way we all live and set out to define how the greatest brands of tomorrow grow through Brand Advocacy. The Duel team comprises psychologists, brand experts and community builders from companies including Amazon, Treatwell, Bain, Mimecast and lululemon as well as young entrepreneurs, psychologists and other exceptional talents.
THE ROLE
You'll work within the marketing team to build the community of the most exciting consumer retail and D2C brand builders worldwide by educating them to better understand the power of brand advocacy. At its core sits the Duel platform customer community and the market-leading Building Brand Advocacy podcast and events—your job will be to nurture and grow the community through IRL engagements and to add value & education at every opportunity.
What the Community delivers to Duel:
Top-of-funnel domination: Grow a vibrant network – the Building Brand Advocacy Collective (BBAC) – that attracts ideal influencers, partners, and advocates. Think engaging content to distribute, asking network members to be guests on our podcast, inviting them to exclusive dinners, sharing early-access insights, and offering other special membership perks.
Customer Community Engagement: Cultivate a dedicated customer community that not only uses and loves our products but also actively participates in the brand advocacy journey. By fostering meaningful interactions, sharing valuable insights, and offering exceptional support, this community will amplify Duel’s message, drive organic growth, and provide crucial feedback that informs product development and enhances customer satisfaction.
Duel's Trusted Network: Develop and manage Duel's Trusted Network, our unique referral program hosted on our platform. This initiative empowers customers and advocates to refer new clients, leveraging their positive experiences to drive organic growth. By providing enticing incentives, easy-to-use referral tools, and continuous support, the Trusted Network will enhance customer loyalty, expand our user base, and contribute to sustained business growth.

Trusted Network Expansion: You'll drive the growth and success of Duel's Trusted Network, transforming customers into brand advocates who fuel organic growth through referrals.
Your Responsibilities:
BBAC Network Growth: Track the number of high-value contacts added to the CRM.
Attract Key Stakeholders: Focus on attracting ideal influencers, partners, and advocates to create a robust community that supports our brand advocacy mission.
Distribute Engaging Content and Activities: Ensure continuous engagement by distributing compelling content, inviting network members to podcasts and exclusive dinners, and providing early-access insights.
Trusted Network Management: Oversee and manage Duel's Trusted Network, ensuring the referral program runs smoothly and effectively.
Incentive Design and Implementation: Develop and implement attractive incentives to encourage customer participation in the referral program.
Referral Tracking and Analytics: Monitor and analyze referral activities, providing regular reports on the program’s performance and identifying areas for improvement.
Offer Exclusive Perks and Membership Benefits: Strengthen relationships and enhance the sense of exclusivity and belonging among community members by offering special membership perks.
Ensure Community Growth and Sustainability: Guarantee the community thrives and expands continually, maintaining its relevance and influence over the long term.
Feedback Loop: listening to what the community wants and needs, collecting feedback on community events and experiences through phone, emails and meetings.
Drive Strategic Importance: Play a crucial role in the company’s success by driving top-of-funnel activities that lead to broader brand awareness and long-term engagement.
Travel: A passion and desire for travel to attend and host IRL events for our communities in different markets.

EXPERIENCE
A proven track record in one or more areas: building high-growth communities, designing and executing an events strategy, and managing partnerships.
Experience in community management, event or growth marketing, or a business development role.
Experience managing and analyzing budgets (P&L ownership a plus).
Experience powering a B2B referral program
Success creating B2B customer advocates to drive organic growth
A deep understanding of social commerce and brand advocacy trends.
Bonus: experience working with fashion and beauty brands.

$100,000 - $120,000 USD depending on experience + Bonus Incentives
