You will work with some of the most exciting and cutting edge brands to help them grow through the power of their passionate customers. You will be responsible for all the commercial elements of the Brand Partner team, overseeing every sales and customer success stage in the Duel engagement model. You’ll pick up from where the demand gen team leaves off, building and managing the team that escorts brand builders through the understanding of the Duel methodology and platform, the onboarding process as well as increasing the value of signed Brand Partners. 

Nobody wants to be sold to today, marketers least of all.  For this reason, we have a highly consultative approach to working with prospective brands and you will be growing this model as Duel scales on both sides of the Atlantic.

 

 

 

 

THE COMPANY 

Duel was founded by world-record-breaking adventurer and former brand ambassador Paul Archer, alongside viral games developer Naio Tsarouchis. They set out to develop both the technology and methodology that enables purpose-led brands to drive organic growth, powered by communities of advocates.

Duel’s Brand Advocacy Platform allows brands to do just that - scaling how they manage their relationships with thousands of advocates. This unprecedented ability to manage their communities is built around programs that engage and retain customers, accelerating word-of-mouth sales.

The Duel team is made up of psychologists, brand experts and community builders from companies including Amazon and Lululemon. The platform is used by brands such as Monica Vinader, Frugi, Rab, KUHL and Tropicfeel, and the team has consulted for over 450 brands including Amex, Travelex, M&S, Philips, Boots, Schuh and TopShop.

THE ROLE

You will own the entire revenue-generating cycle of the Duel Platform, taking the company from founder-led sales, to a scalable sales and customer success machine. You will be leading and building a team that will be closing contracts, onboarding new clients and then managing the ongoing relationship to double the value of every customer within 12 months of signing. Working closely with the demand generation team, you’ll be establishing what metrics affect each stage of the process, setting goals, comp/training plans and effectively managing teams throughout to achieve revenue goals.

  • Reporting to the CEO and the board of directors, and collaborating with the leadership team, you will be the engine behind exponential revenue growth over the coming few years
  • Be the sales lead, advising the larger prospective Brands on the methodology of Brand Advocacy, closing contracts and supporting in bringing these practices to life through Advocacy Programs on the Duel platform
  • Ensure every Brand Partner’s vision is successfully brought to life with the Duel technology and they are happy can’t live without it 
  • Owning the hiring and training process for an incredible team of talented brand advocacy consultants, strategists and customer success execs
  • Managing and developing the sales metrics for the team in line with revenue KPIs 
  • Stay up to date on market trends within the consumer world
  • Working closely with the Duel development team to provide technical support for customers and feedback on new features or products, becoming an integral part of steering the direction of the product


THE PERSON

  • You’ll have a personable, warm and inviting leadership style - you work well in a team and people generally want to be around you
  • An ambivert that doesn't come across as a classic ego-driven sales shark
  • Consultative selling style and adverse to a "quick win". Has a proven track record of building lasting relationships with each and every one of your clients
  • ‘Customer centricity' isn’t just a phrase to hang on the wall to you - you’ll be utterly obsessed by it as it’s the easiest way to drive exponential growth and hit your targets. 
  • Must have exceptional presentation experience, well versed in presenting to C-Level executives in Enterprise companies
  • Passionate about brands and tech 


EXPERIENCE

You will have ideally scaled a SaaS startup in a commercial or sales leadership role before, or potentially ran new business for a larger agency.  You will completely understand how retail brands work, how they buy software and how to negotiate with multiple stakeholders to deliver a mid-market to enterprise sale (£30k+ ACV)

  • Proven history of scaling revenue exponentially
  • Experience in successfully leading and enhancing a sales team with the motivational skills to drive development and implement sales strategies that will deliver targeted growth
  • Exceptional experience in B2B (Ideally Enterprise) sales and account management in deal values of £30K+/annum
  • Experience in delivering client-focused solutions based on customer needs 
  • A commercial mindset with proven experience working to revenue or retention targets
